Six Weeks on a Shelf: How Our Soap Is Made

Every bar we sell is made by the cold process: oils and butters are mixed by hand at a low temperature, poured into a wooden mould and left to set overnight.
Why it takes six weeks
The next morning the block is cut into bars and set on wooden racks. Over the following six weeks the water evaporates slowly and the bar becomes harder, milder and longer-lasting. A soap that is rushed melts quickly in the dish.
What goes in
- Cold-pressed olive oil as the base, for a gentle lather.
- Laurel oil, goat milk or honey, depending on the bar.
- Dried herbs and pure essential oils, never synthetic fragrance.
Making it last
Keep the bar on a dish that drains, out of the stream of the shower, and it will last a month or more.
